Company Profile

Exco Resources Ltd mining and exploration company that has been operating since 1998. In recent times the company has established itself as a successful resource development business, having crystallised well in excess of A$200M of value from two key assets: the White Dam Gold Production Joint Venture and the Cloncurry Copper Project ("CCP").

Exco, with its team of experienced geologists and mining professionals, is focused on exploration and resource/project development. With retained cash reserves in excess of $50M, Exco is adequately funded to progress exploration activities and consider strategic acquisition opportunities.

The CCP was sold to Xstrata Copper for A$175M in June 2011, generating a significant return on equity. The Company subsequently returned A$135M (A$0.38/share) to its shareholders by way of a capital return (10c/share) and a fully franked dividend (28c/share). The Company's primary focus remains on exploration within its Northwest Queensland land package.  Over half of the >3,000km2 tenement package covers the highly prospective Cloncurry Lineament, which hosts major resources in the region including Ernest Henry and Cannington. Exco has embarked on an expansive exploration programme that will cover the prospective packages located at Pumpkin Gully (central), Hazel Creek (north) and Weatherly Creek/Canteen (south).

In South Australia, Exco retains its interest in the White Dam Gold Project and Drew Hill Exploration Joint Venture with joint venture partner Polymetals Mining  Ltd (ASX: PLY). Since pouring first gold in April 2010, production rates and margins from White Dam have been well above expectations. Debt financing was paid off on November 2010 some nine months ahead of schedule and after only seven months of operation. The project encompasses the Hannaford open pit, the Vertigo deposit, a dump/heap leach, gold extraction plant and associated infrastructure. Mining of the Hannaford pit was completed in January 2012. Mining of the nearby Vertigo deposit was completed in May 2012. The project has produced in excess of 130,000oz of gold to date. In addition, near mine and regional exploration continues on the tenements within the Drew Hill Exploration Joint Venture.
